What others say about Macon Road Baptist School:

Dear Dr. Wayne Webb,

It has been my privilege to work with school age children for over twenty-five years.  Every day I travel to different schools in the mid-south, which provides me with a unique prospective.

Visiting public, private and Christian schools over the years has allowed me to see first hand the major differences they offer.  The words that come to mind are opportunity and exposure.

The questions are… What do you want your child exposed to?  What opportunities will my child have?

The changing society and culture that we live in today offers many negative opportunities for students.  Some schools spend much of their day ending fights and searching for illegal substances and so on. Students need the opportunity to study without the fear and extreme peer pressure that exists in other schools.

It is becoming more urgent that students are exposed to the truth that Christian schools provide. While the world is redefining the “family” and exchanging truth for lies, Christian schools offer by far the best opportunity and exposure for students.

Thank you, your faculty, and staff, for the sacrifices and efforts you continue to provide for such a needed service.  Our city needs more schools like yours.

Sincerely,

Norlin Perry

Phillip and Mendi Funderburk  (Kaelyn is in the 1st grade)

Blessed.  That one word sums up how we feel to be able to send our daughter to Macon Road Baptist School.  We were so pleased to find a school that not only offered the high academic standards that were so important to us but also provided a learning environment rich in Christian principals and moral values that other schools so badly lack.

The teachers, as well as other members of the school staff, provide on a daily basis a living example of Christian leadership and knowledge.  Their love for the children in their care is evident in the way they teach, interact and discipline.

In the four years that our daughter has attended Macon Road she has learned more than we could have ever hoped for and has grown not only in body and mind but in spirit as well.  We are so thankful that the Lord lead us to this school and know that there is no better place for our daughter to obtain her education.  We pray that God will continue to bless this school.

We are very pleased with our decision to send our daughter Emily who is now in K-5 having completed your K-4 program last year to MRBS.   The school has surpassed our expectations.  She is growing academically, socially and most importantly spiritually.  We are so proud to be a part of the Macon Road Baptist School family.

Pastor and Mrs. Phillip L. Ferrell

Calvary Chapel Memphis

When Benjamin (our eldest son) finished first grade at a Shelby County school, he was the only child in his class who could read. We began searching for an alternative to public school and discovered Macon Road Baptist School. Over the years, we struggled with justifying the costs of tuition as we added our two younger children to the school’s roster. Our friends may drive newer cars and live in newer and nicer homes but our children are recipients of a challenging education, filled with Biblical principles. Reflecting back, it has been a sacrifice that was well worth the cost. Benjamin will graduate this year in May. One of the accomplishments he achieved while attending MRBS is obtaining a 27 on his ACT, (well above the national average). Due to Macon Road’s challenging academic curriculum, he was able to CLEP test out of English, American Literature and History and earn nine college credits without any additional study time. These credits in addition to some summer college classes will enable him to graduate from high school as a college sophomore. His sister and brother both started Macon Road in Kindergarten. We have already seen many positive results in Jessica and Joshua’s academic achievements as well as their spiritual lives. One of them being Jessica’s ACT score of 19 in the fall of her freshman year!  All three have been active in various athletic programs offered by MRBS.  My wife Linda and I are very blessed to have discovered such a wonderful place where our children are well taught and well nurtured.
