Our younger grades are rooted in a strong phonics and reading programs which aid in their overall learning process. Our secondary program is developed mostly for the college preparatory student. Our students are challenged in higher level thinking skills and are encouraged to strive for excellence each subject. Each year our students take the Stanford Achievement Test (SAT) and score well above the national average.

Grades 9-12 participate in ensemble groups. We have a secondary speech department which produces a spring play each year. Both our music and speech students compete in fine arts competition on the regional and state levels. Our Juniors and Seniors are required to take one semester of music appreciation and one semester of art appreciation.
Discipline:
The goal of discipline is the achievement of self-discipline. A person with self-discipline rules his personal desires with an eye to the future rather than to the present. We believe structure and consistency in the classroom are essential to provide an environment of security and confidence for each child to achieve his learning potential and to develop self-discipline. Macon Road desires to provide the best learning environment possible for each student. To assist in this endeavor, students in grades K3-4 receive weekly conduct grades based on a check system. Students in grades 5 and 6 transition from the check system to demerit and detention system by receiving checks, demerits, and detentions for different infractions. A demerit and detention system is used for grades 7-12.
